How 40-0 Works
Stats come first
Every player-season gets normalized for its era and position, so a 1990s guard and a 2020s guard go head to head on the same scale. Production and efficiency carry the most weight. Awards break close ties and raise the ceiling when the numbers back them up.
Roster construction matters
Big names are not enough. 40-0 rewards a real primary creator, floor spacing, rim protection, ball security, and rebounding. It punishes a backcourt full of ball-dominant scorers, a clogged floor, and no defense in the paint.
The 40-game gauntlet
40-0 runs the same perfect-season path every time: 29 regular-season games, a 4-game conference tournament, then a 7-game national tournament that throws elite teams at you. Even a loaded roster can slip late. Beating three straight heavyweights to close it out is brutally hard.
A projection, not a claim
A 40-0 result is a calibrated projection, not a historical fact. It is here to start the argument, not settle it for good. Every result is locked in exactly as it was scored, so old shared runs still hold up down the line.
